Our mission and nonprofit purpose
We are a registered charity with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC). Our purpose is simple and singular: to give orphans and vulnerable children the safety, learning and care every child needs to thrive.
Children who lose parental care face immediate risks — homelessness, interrupted schooling, untreated illness and deep emotional trauma. AMERS Orphans Organisation Inc was founded by community members who refused to accept that any child in our reach should go without a safe bed, a classroom and a doctor when they need one.
As a nonprofit organisation, we have no shareholders and no commercial motive. All income — from donations, grants and community fundraising — is reinvested directly into our programs for children. Our finances are reported annually to the ACNC and are publicly available on the Charity Register.
Everything we do is guided by the best interests of the child, strict safeguarding standards and a commitment to transparency with our donors and community.

What we do
Three connected programs wrap around each child, so care is never piecemeal.
Education Support
From school enrolment and uniforms to tutoring and mentoring, we remove every barrier between a child and their education — because learning is the surest path out of disadvantage.
Healthcare & Wellbeing
Regular medical check-ups, immunisations, counselling and trauma-informed emotional support help each child recover, grow and build resilience for the future.

We keep administration lean so your generosity reaches children directly.
- $25 provides a school starter pack — books, stationery and a backpack for one child.
- $60 covers nutritious meals for a child for a full month.
- $120 funds a comprehensive health check and follow-up care.
- $250 supports a full term of tutoring and mentoring for a child falling behind at school.
A story of change
When Amal arrived at our shelter program she was nine years old, had missed two years of schooling and barely spoke. With a stable home, patient tutoring and regular counselling, she returned to the classroom within a term.
Today Amal reads above her grade level, plays in a local football team and wants to become a nurse. Her story is why we believe shelter, education and healthcare must always work together. (Name changed to protect privacy.)
